Management Contractor Capability and Experience
D&P have recently been performing Contracts in the role of Management Contractor where D&P assists the Client in the management and execution of the project. In this type of contract the supply of the equipment is performed directly by the Client or alternatively through another party (e.g. the Civil Contractor) Key Benefits * Project Management of the contract is executed by personnel experienced in the development of Railway Maintenance Facilities and conversant with the management of similar projects. * By working exclusively on Railway Maintenance projects D&P are kept up to date with the latest maintenance techniques and equipment available in the market. This will assist the Client with the successful selection of the correct equipment. * The major equipment suppliers are all known by D&P and we are aware of their experience on similar projects. With this prior knowledge and experience D&P are able to effectively manage their respective strengths and weaknesses. * Technical and Commercial evaluation can be made of supplier proposals based upon D&P's proven previous experience. This will benefit the Client in terms of minimising the price paid for maximum equipment received. * D&P's experience can be of assistance in relation to documentary requirements, commercial terms (milestones etc.), with the supplier. * Contracts of this nature are somewhat less expensive than performing the contract on a turnkey basis. However, supplier risk remains with the Client but is effectively managed by D&P.
