In 2004 Bombardier Transportation provided D&P with a contract to upgrade the facilities at Holyhead for the Voyagers running on the cross country route.  The facilities provided included CET emptying, fuelling, shore supplies and a two road maintenance shed with a maintenance pit.  In addition to this work Wrekin Construction working on behalf of Network Rail contracted with D&P to de-commission the existing fuelling facility.  The facility was opened by Charles Belcher, Managing Director of Virgin Trains West Coast on 13 Deember 2004.
