Lifting System Study

During the last quarter of 1988 an exercise was undertaken to assess the most cost effective means to be employed for the lifting of proposed 1990's stock.

At the time, LUL had purchased three prototype train sets and a survey of these showed that the existing method of lifting to remove bogies, i.e. Overhead crane, could not be utilised and some form of jacking would be required.

A Study was conducted to assess the most flexible and cost effective system for lifting.
